James Davies

Actor

Early in his career, James focused on visual arts both as a practicing artist and as an arts manager. A progressive shift towards performing arts began in 1994 with roles such as Malvolio in Twelfth Night, MacDuff, Cecil Brunner and Inspector Hare in the Bunbury Regional Entertainment/Stark Raven Theatre co-productions of Shakespeare’s MacBeth, Dorothy Hewitt’s musical The Man from Mukinupin (Directed by Andy King) and Reg Livermore’s musical Ned Kelly. 

James has worked with the WA Opera Company in the 2004 Festival of Perth’s production of Batavia, the Fremantle Film and Television Institute in short movie roles, has done some television commercial work and also played Gratiano and Brabantio in Othello (Directed by Stephen Lee).

Stephen Lee

Actor & Director

 
Stephen has had a long and distinguished career working in London as a professional actor and director, including a stint on The Bill (Thames) and directing at Her Majesty’s Theatre in the West End. Stephen taught at Lee Strasberg and Italia Conti, and has acted and directed in Grenada (Spain) and at the Raduga Festival in St. Petersburg. 

Since moving to Perth in 2002 for family reasons, Stephen has appeared in Macbeth (directed by Marcelle Schmitz), as Prospero in The Tempest (directed by John Milson) and has also acted in The Elephant Man (Naked Emotion Ensemble). He has directed Othello, Twelfth Night and Lysistrata for Class Act Theatre; set up The Method Studio, Perth and is Artistic Director of Attic Theatre, winning Equity/MEAA nominations for Best Play and Best Director for his production of A Christmas Carol in 2004. 

Stephen has adjudicated at one South West and two State Drama Festivals and currently teaches at The Entertainment Factory.

Angelique Malcolm

Actor

Angelique’s training includes LAMDA (London), Curtin University and WAAPA courses. She has nineteen years of professional experience in the industry, performing in everything from Shakespeare to children’s cartoons such as Ginger Meggs. She is a writer, puppeteer, director, producer and has also been the Artistic Director of Class Act Theatre since its inception in 1994. 

Angelique has appeared in feature films such as Love In Limbo & The Bouncer, short films such as Pink Pyjamas, training videos, television commercials and television shows such as Bush Patrol. 

She has been a presenter on Channel Seven’s Home Buyers Show, done various voice-overs and musicals such as Les Miserables and appeared in countless plays for young people. Recent theatre credits include Emilia in Othello, Meg in Hotel Sorrento, Mrs Cratchit in A Christmas Carol, Mrs Popov in The Bear, Maria in Twelfth Night, the title role in Lysistrata, Susannah in Urban Primate and Pearl in Summer of the Seventeenth Doll (which she also produced). The West Australian said: “If you see one play in Perth this year, make sure it is The Doll.”

Nicholas McRobbie

Actor

Nicholas has appeared in many productions over the past few years working for companies such as Perth Theatre Company, Red Ryder Productions, Barking Gecko, Prickly Pear Ensemble, Class Act Theatre, Shanghai Lil Productions and Blak Yak. His credits include roles in Chatroom, Dealers Choice, The Buzz, Keeper, Hotel Sorrento, Conundrum and Human Traffic. 

Nick has also been nominated for the IFAC WA Equity Guild Awards in both 2004 and 2005.

David Meadows

Actor

David has been a professional actor for nearly twenty years, and has worked in all but one state and one territory in Australia. He studied acting at WAAPA, and has worked for Perth Theatre Company, Deckchair Theatre, Bell Shakespeare, Theatre Up North, Opera Australia, and West Australian Opera, among many others. David’s Shakespeare credits alone include Iago in “Othello”, Petruccio in “The Taming of the Shrew” (twice), the title role in “Hamlet” (twice), Gratiano in “The Merchant Of Venice”, Leonine in “Pericles”, Antonio in “Twelfth Night”, and Agamemnon in “Troilus And Cressida”. 

Other theatre credits include “The Ashes of Great Men”, “Shopping and F**king”, “A Man Of Letters”, “The Edge”, and the musical “Happy End”. Television credits include “Blue Heelers”, “Good Guys Bad Guys”, and “Ship to Shore”. Directing credits include “Two”, “The Elephant Man”, “Mozart & Salieri”, “Britannicus”, “Romeo & Juliet”, and “Summer of the Seventeenth Doll”.

Russell Chandler

Producer & Artistic Director

The instigator of this mad company. Russell is the guy who holds it all together and keeps everyone happy. Russell holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Systems from Curtin University.

Karen has been an integral part of setting up and assisting Bare Naked Theatre to run from behind the scenes. Karen does the stuff that no-one else wants to do ! Karen holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology from Curtin University.

Jan Lumisdaine

Wardrobe 

Jan graduated from the WAAPA costume course in 2000 and then worked mostly at the Australian Ballet until 2003. She has also worked with Royal NZ Ballet Company, been on the road with Lunar Circus in Cambodia and completed many other shorter assignments in Melbourne before recently moving to Busselton.
